This event took place in 2013, within the framework of the VII Conference on Ethnography and Qualitative Methods organized by the Center for Social Anthropology of the Institute for Economic and Social Development (CAS-IDES). At that time, we proposed to several colleagues that they think of their ethnographic material based on an Elysian text that would have had a particular impact on them. The slogan consisted in the participants rethinking some dimension of their fieldwork and the process of reflexivity from some of the lines of Elias' figurational sociology. Subsequently, thanks to the generous initiative of Gustavo Sorá and Rosana Guber, it was possible to turn these presentations into a set of articulated texts that gave shape to this dossier. Este dossier vio su nacimiento en un simposio promovido por las coordinadoras, con el propósito de tributar la obra del sociólogo judío-alemán Norbert Elias. Dicho evento se realizó en el año 2013, en el marco de las VII Jornadas de Etnografía y Métodos Cualitativos organizadas por el Centro de Antropología Social del Instituto de Desarrollo Económico y Social (CAS-IDES). En aquel momento les propusimos a varios colegas, que pensaran su material etnográfico a partir de un texto elisiano que los hubiera impactado particularmente. La consigna consistió en que los participantes repensaran alguna dimensión de su trabajo de campo y el proceso de reflexividad a partir de alguna de las líneas de la sociología figuracional de Elias. Posteriormente, gracias a la iniciativa generosa de Gustavo Sorá y Rosana Guber, fue posible convertir esas ponencias en un conjunto de textos articulados que dieron forma al presente dossier.
