The article describes and interprets the social meanings and practices constructed and carried out by residents and non-residents, through the analysis of the (non-) uses of amenities and the value of space created by (non-) users. The (non-)use of amenities is examined by the practices of showing off, circulating and avoiding, intersected by native categories of middle class. In addition, the article analyses how high-end yet financed residential typology is materialized and sold. This paper assumes a processual and relational perspective to produce an “insider and a close-up view” (Magnani, 2002) of how social differences are made.
