At the same time that it enables the inclusion of subaltern subjects in film production, it redefines the training of students from a place of mediation, which departs from both the logics of the industry and of auteur cinema centered on the individual. Taking as a reference the extension function of Latin American universities, as well as the participatory/community cinema multiple experiences, this article proposes a reflection on the educational, creative and political implications of this space, which began in 2020 in conjunction with the collective of homeless, Ni Todo Está Perdido (NiTEP). The existing tensions between the process and the final work are analyzed, to think of these emphases as possible differential and non-exclusive phases of participatory cinema, which can favor the political dimension as well as the empowerment of the actors involved at a collective level, as well as the possibility to dispute social meanings in the public sphere.
