For this, a documentary investigation was carried out in which a corpus of sources was used, among which the Bulletin of the Lasallian Latin American Region stands out, which was consulted in the Library of the Interdistrict Novitiate of Our Lady of Lourdes, in Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco (Mexico). Thus, as a result of the research work, the historical journey is presented that goes from the first associations of alumni of the De la Salle Brothers in France, to the creation of the concept of the Lasallian Family and the publication of the Letter to the Lasallian Family. In addition, the actors and recipients of these actions, the participating Lasallian institutions, the reflections made to achieve the objectives and the background are identified. Este artículo tiene el fin de reconstruir las estrategias cercanas al tiempo de los acontecimientos del Seminario-Taller de la Familia Lasallista en Conocoto del año 1989 que fueron implementadas con el fin de desarrollar y fortalecer la asociación lasallista en los distritos de la RELAL, haciendo énfasis en su triple propósito: Formativo, apostólico y de gobierno. Para ello se hizo una investigación documental en la que se empleó un corpus de fuentes entre las que destaca el Boletín de la Región Latinoamericana Lasallista, que fue consultado en la Biblioteca del Noviciado Interdistrital de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes, en Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco (México). Así pues, como resultado de la labor de investigación, se presenta el recorrido histórico que va desde las primeras asociaciones de antiguos alumnos de los Hermanos de la Salle en Francia, hasta la creación del concepto de la Familia Lasallista y la publicación de la Carta a la Familia Lasallista. Además, se identifican a los actores y destinatarios de estas acciones, a las instituciones lasallistas participantes, las reflexiones hechas para el logro de los objetivos y los antecedentes.
