| Sumario: | The article analyzes the production of social housing under the horizontal property regime in Mar del Plata in the 1970s. It traces the buildings constructed under this system and the extent of the state plans that were carried out during the “Argentine Revolution”, the democratic opening and the last military dictatorship. In this sense, we seek to unravel the characteristics of the system of construction and acquisition of units by identifying the actors, firms and entities involved. Finally, we argue that the contradictions of urban development generated socio-spatial segregation and inequality in access to housing. The result was determined by two opposing real estate logics that are still evident today. |
