In this sense, the Chilean presence in the independence process of the nineteenth century refers to such a situation. This is why the article exposes the strategies and various actions of the governments of Chile and society. In this sense, there is an exchange of letters, memoirs, newspapers, etc., which give an account of the activities to support and legitimize the end of Spanish colonization over the Antilles in general and Cuba in particular. El internacionalismo, en su acepción general, refiere a la teoría que sostiene que determinadas actividades humanas se ejercen o deben ejercerse por encima de las fronteras nacionales y que, en consecuencia, los promotores de ellas deben fijar metas y estrategias en términos transnacionales. En este sentido, la presencia chilena en el proceso independentista del siglo XIX refiere a tal situación. Es por ello que el artículo expone las estrategias y diversas acciones de los gobiernos de Chile y de la sociedad. En este sentido, se analizan intercambios epistolares, memorias, periódicos, entre otras fuentes, que dan cuenta de las actividades en pos del apoyo y la legitimación del fin del coloniaje español sobre las Antillas en general y sobre Cuba en particular.
