| Sumario: | The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between academic stress and coping strategies in fifth-grade secondary school students from Public Educational Institutions in the district of Chilca-Huancayo, Peru during COVID-19. The methodological proposal was quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive-correlational. The sample was made up of 214 students of both sexes, from 15 to 18 years old, to whom the “SISCO SV Academic Stress Inventory adapted to the context of the COVID-19 crisis” and the “Coping Scale for Adolescents” were applied. revised (ACS Lima)”. The results revealed a positive and significant relationship between academic stress and the strategies of self-worry, lack of coping, decreased tension, self-blame, keeping to oneself, and wishful thinking. These findings suggest designing psychoeducational programs in order to enhance students' coping abilities in the face of stressful events. |
