A weak significant positive correlation was observed between PTSD and psychological violence by control, humiliation, physical and sexual violence. Depression showed a weakly significant correlation with psychological violence by control, humiliation and sexual violence. There was a weak significant negative relation between depression and self-esteem. Conclusion: Significant correlations were found between having suffered violence and symptoms. These results contribute to forensic exercise and psychological intervention. Keywords: abuse; Mental Health; psychological damage; Dominican   El estudio realizado en la República Dominicana consistió en evaluar la relación entre violencia experimentada y depresión, ansiedad, ideación suicida, quejas somáticas, trastorno de estrés postraumático, autoestima y apoyo social. Metodología: Estudio transversal y correlacional con 170 mujeres que buscaron ayuda psicológica. Resultados: la edad media fue 38.5. Se observó una correlación positiva significativa débil entre Trastorno por Estrés Post Traumático y la violencia psicológica por control, humillación, violencia física y sexual. La depresión presentó una correlación significativa débil con violencia psicológica por control, humillación y violencia sexual. Hubo una relación negativa significativa débil entre depresión y autoestima. Conclusión: se encontraron correlaciones significativas entre haber sufrido violencia y los síntomas. Estos resultados aportan al ejercicio forense y en la intervención psicológica.
