His research work, his substantial academic output (expressed in research articles, books and book chapters), his human qualities and his theoretical and methodological contributions justify writing some lines of his life and work. En la madrugada del 05 de Enero del presente año, dejó de existir, a puertas de cumplir 78 años de edad,  el Dr. Ernesto Pollitt Burga, uno de los psicólogos peruanos más importantes y el de mayor alcance y renombre internacional a lo largo de más de 50 años de estudios ininterrumpidos en el  campo del desarrollo infantil. Su labor en investigación, su cuantiosa producción académica (expresada en artículos de investigación, libros y capítulos de libros), sus cualidades humanas y sus aportes teóricos y metodológicos justifican el escribir algunas líneas de su vida y obra.
