A man attentive to the diverse currents of universal thought of his time, medical, social, ethical and cultural problems are the backbone of his thought and motivation in all his work. Thus, the biography of this pioneer of Spanish psychology, written by the renowned psychology historian Helio Carpintero, is well received as an important element to evaluate Simarro's important contributions and will surely become one of the most read and discussed biographies by psychologists not only in Spain but in other latitudes. Todas las ciencias tienen sus figuras paradigmáticas. La psicología, como ciencia del comportamiento humano, posee también su galería de importantes hombres. Así, al momento de buscar aquellas figuras que representan lo más auténtico de la psicología en España, el nombre de Luís Simarro (1851-1921) está sin duda entre los primeros. Hombre atento a diversas corrientes del pensamiento universal de su época, los problemas médicos, sociales, éticos y culturales vertebran su pensamiento y motivación en toda su obra. Es así que la biografía de este pionero de la psicología española, escrita por el reconocido historiador de la psicología Helio Carpintero, es bien recibida como un elemento importante para valorar los importantes aportes de Simarro y que con seguridad se convertirá en una de las biografías más leídas y discutidas por los psicólogos no solo en España sino en otras latitudes.
