El texto procura caracterizar las líneas historiográficas que han predominado en los estudios referidos al exilio del expresidente argentino, Juan Domingo Perón (1955-1973), con tres propósitos: subrayar la pertinencia de conectar los dos tramos de su trayectoria exiliar, a saber, el latinoamericano y el español; destacar la importancia de vincular los exilios presidenciales con los aportes del Derecho Internacional Americano a la institución del asilo; y, por último, resaltar las potencialidades del exilio del líder justicialista en la conformación de redes transnacionales destinadas a evitar el debilitamiento del peronismo a pesar de la proscripción de su figura principal.
