Menem in 1989, the remains of the controversial Juan Manuel de Rosas were repatriated. With that event, marked by the suspicion of an obvious political use by the president, a decade of official vindication of the figure of Rosas. This article highlights three key moments in the praise of Rosas in the 1990s: the repatriation of Rosas's remains (1989); the nationalization of the "Juan Manuel de Rosas" Historical Research Institute (1997) and the erection of a monument (1999). Through the analysis of these events, aspects of the relationship between Peronism and Rosismo will be known, characterized by the incorporation of revisionism within the conception of the history of Peronist militants. This explains the existence of a network of Menemist Peronist officials willing to pay tribute to Rosas and favor a certain Rosista group, leaving aside the simple political use of the character by the president.
