Starting from the pre-Roman context, three specific innovations that took place in that period will be analyzed: the appearance of epigraphy on bronze and its relationship with official communication, the development of urban epigraphic sets, and the gradual linguistic Latinization. Roman models together with local selections and adaptations will be noted, taking into consideration inscriptions produced both in Latin and in vernacular languages and scripts.
