From the intersection between emotions, migration, and material culture this article proposes to study emotional practices and prescriptions linked to nostalgia. It contributes to the study of the emotional dynamics linked to migration and, especially, to the policies of identity recreation and integration into a new society. El trabajo aborda los usos políticos de la nostalgia dentro de la comunidad española de la ciudad de Buenos Aires analizando dos episodios que tuvieron lugar entre el último lustro del siglo XIX y la década de 1930. A partir del entrecruzamiento entre las emociones, la migración y la cultura material este artículo propone estudiar prácticas y prescripciones emocionales vinculadas a la nostalgia. El trabajo aporta al estudio de las dinámicas emocionales vinculadas a la migración y, especialmente, a las políticas de recreación identitaria e integración a una nueva sociedad.
