We propose three scenes: Sistema Copiador (2020), by Hernán Camoletto, A la sombra de un granado en flor and Trabajos prácticos (2021), by Leticia Obeid, and an untitled piece by Verónica Meloni exhibited in 2018. We take them as a starting point, asking these questions: How can we decide if these images are contemporary or not? Where do they stray from their actuality and how do they come along at the present? To explore these questions, we analyze the mentioned poetics from three perspectives. First, as image retrieving flows. Then, as artworks that create citation networks. Finally, as ways of revitalizing culture archives. From there, we move forward to make up the horizon of what we propose to call an imagined theory. Este artículo busca delimitar una zona de experimentaciones estéticas en el campo del arte argentino de las últimas décadas. Proponemos tres escenas, Sistema Copiador (2020) de Hernán Camoletto, A la sombra de un granado en flor y Trabajos Prácticos (2021) de Leticia Obeid y una obra Sin Título de Verónica Meloni expuesta en 2018. Partimos de ellas con las siguientes preguntas: ¿Cómo decidir si estas imágenes son contemporáneas? ¿En qué punto se alejan de lo actual para remontar el presente? Para avanzar sobre esos interrogantes analizamos las poéticas señaladas desde tres perspectivas. Primero, como flujos de recuperación de imágenes. Luego, en cuanto obras que construyen redes de citación. Finalmente, en tanto formas de revitalización de los archivos de la cultura. Desde allí avanzamos sobre algunas premisas para conformar el horizonte de lo que proponemos llamar una teoría imaginada.
