However, authors such as Valcárcel Medina have criticized the archival art label within the aesthetic discourse argued by recognized art critics in recent decades. Therefore, it is worth asking if the tensions between the nature of artistic practice can generate their own archives or if these are another field not capable of being reflected through cultural productions. Throughout this article we will try to mesh from the central axis of the questioning of the tensions between art and archive to be able to discern the role of this in its artistic representation and, therefore, its link with the conformation of memory and construction historiographic. De la mano de los nuevos medios en el devenir del siglo XX, la práctica artística ha ido desarrollando una reflexión en torno a las prácticas institucionales archivísticas. Desde el cuestionamiento de los propios procesos que giran sobre la organización de información hasta el registro identitario social. Sin embargo, autores como Isidoro Valcárcel Medina han criticado la etiqueta de arte de archivo dentro del discurso estético argumentada por críticos de arte reconocidos en las últimas décadas. Por ende, cabe preguntarse si las tensiones de la naturaleza de la práctica artística pueden generar sus propios archivos o si estos son otro ámbito no capaz de ser reflejado a través de las producciones culturales. A lo largo de este artículo se tratará de engranar desde el eje central del cuestionamiento de las tensiones entre arte y archivo para poder discernir el papel de este en su representación artística y, por ende, su vinculación con la conformación de la memoria y la construcción historiográfica.
