The research on the different strategies used to tell rock’s stories allows us to explain common features, differences and themes on which there is a vacancy of knowledge. Reviewing the corpus, we stop at references to the associative activities and self-management as outstanding features in the narratives about rock culture. Finally, we take stock of the current state of inquiry on the subject and future prospects, and we point out the importance of investigating and documenting the history of rock and its value for the memory of the different provincial scenes. Este artículo aborda el estado actual de la producción discursiva sobre el rock en el llamado “interior” de Argentina, a partir de un recorte de diecisiete trabajos editados en formato libro. Presentamos una sistematización de datos acerca de las publicaciones (año y tipo de edición, recorte temporal y geográfico, estrategia narrativa, fuentes, entre otras dimensiones). La pesquisa sobre las diferentes estrategias empleadas para contar las historias del rock permite explicitar rasgos en común, diferencias y temas sobre los cuales hay vacancia de saberes. En la revisión del corpus, nos detenemos en las referencias a actividades asociativas y a la autogestión como rasgos destacables en las narrativas acerca de la cultura rock. Por último, hacemos un balance del estado actual de la indagación sobre el tema y las perspectivas a futuro, y señalamos la importancia de investigar y documentar la historia del rock y su valor para la memoria de las distintas escenas provinciales.
