Aspects analyzed: a) Means of access to sources, sources accessed and search strategies employed; b) Structure of the review; c) Clarity of writing, handling of references in text and bibliography.Results: In 2005, 78 % of students performed combined searches (Internet and manuals). In 2006, only 52,5 % performed such searches. 49% performed searches in bibliographical data bases, which diminished to 37,5 % in 2006, whereas searches in other languages was 24% and 12,5% respectively. There was an increase in the use of search engines, statements of search criteria and references to key words employed.In 2006 there was an improvement in the statement of problems, objectives, hypothesis and coherence between these aspects.In both years, 20% of works employed the quotation and bibliographical reference formats suggested by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).Conclusions: The main difficulties emerged in the handling and incorporation of quotations and bibliographical references. In 2006 there was a tendency to make search strategies explicit. The use of foreign languages poses a limitation. Objetivo: comparar de manera cuali-cuantitativa las dificultades que enfrentan los estudiantes para elaborar un trabajo de revisión bibliográfica; en los años 2005 y 2006. Materiales y métodos: Año 2005: 57 grupos N= 218; año 2006 40 grupos N=180. Se analizó: a) Medios de acceso a la información, fuentes consultadas y estrategia de búsqueda implementada; b) Estructura del trabajo de revisión c) Claridad de la redacción, manejo de referencias en el texto y en la bibliografía. Resultados: Enel año2005el78%de los estudiantes accedió a búsquedas combinadas (tanto en internet como manuales). Enelaño2006,sólo accedió el 52,5%.El49%realizó búsquedas en bases de datos bibliográficas, en el año 2006 fue menor (37,5 %); al igual que la consulta en otros idiomas (24%y12,5% respectivamente).Aumentóla utilización de motores de búsqueda, la especificación de los criterios de búsqueda y la referencia a las palabras claves utilizadas) Seobservó una mejor performance en el año2006en relación al planteamiento del problema, objetivo/s, hipótesis y coherencia entre estos elementos. En ambos periodos, el 20% de los trabajos utilizaron el formato de cita y referencia bibliográfica sugerido por el Comité Internacional de Editores de Revistas Médicas. Conclusiones: Las mayores dificultades se presentaron en el manejo de incorporación de citas y referencia bibliográficas. En el año 2006, mejoró la explicitación de la estrategia de búsqueda.
