El trabajo hace una breve reseña histórica de los considerados “padres” y “pioneros” de la rama especial de la Cirugía denominada: Plástica-Estética-Reparadora- Reconstructiva, según sean sus objetivos.Esta cirugía puede parecer muy actual por los progresos alcanzados en las técnicas quirúrgicas, en el instrumental y en los materiales empleados, sin embargo sus comienzos se pierden en la noche de los tiempos.No se trata de operaciones solo para embellecer, mejorar, reparar o rejuvenecer, sino que muchas veces son cirugías para las “urgencias del alma”y por necesidad de interrelación entre los seres humanos.
