La tuberculosis, es una enfermedad que ha perseguido al hombre desde el paleolítico a nuestros días, afectando de preferencia a jóvenes, entre la segunda y tercera década de la vida. Hasta mediados del Siglo XX, las cifras de morbilidad en colectividades estudiantiles de diversos países, oscilaba entreel 2 al 8 % de incidencia. En nuestro medio, las cifras alcanzaban del 2 al 4 %. Luego de hacer una breve reseña sobre los principales hitos históricos sobre la enfermedad, se muestra la incidencia de la Tuberculosis en la población universitaria, realizada por consultade las Memorias anuales de la Secretaria de Asuntos Estudiantiles - Dirección de Salud Estudiantil de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, desde Enero 1980 hasta Agosto 2005.
