Results: Ultra-processed products provide 30.3% of energy. The highest contribution was observed in homes in the Great Buenos Aires area, with higher incomes, higher educational levels, not receiving government assistance, without elderly adults, and without children under 14 years old. After controlling the other sociodemographic characteristics, educational level is the most explanatory variable, and homes with children under 14 show a higher percentage of energy coming from ultra-processed products. Conclusion: Differences in consumption highlight the need for strategies that take these aspects into account to ensure food security and nutritional quality.

Métodos: Estudio descriptivo, correlacional y transversal, con datos de la Encuesta Nacional de Gastos de los Hogares 2017-18. Mediante análisis bivariado y multivariado se analizó la relación entre el porcentaje de energía de productos ultraprocesados y las variables geográficas y sociodemográficas. Resultados: Los productos ultraprocesados aportan 30,3% de la energía. El mayor aporte se observó en los hogares del Gran Buenos Aires, con mayores ingresos, mayor clima educativo, en aquellos que no reciben asistencia estatal, sin adultos mayores y sin menores de 14 años. Controladas las demás características sociodemográficas, el clima educativo es la variable de mayor capacidad explicativa y los hogares con menores de 14 años muestran mayor porcentaje de energía proveniente de productos ultraprocesados. Conclusión: Las diferencias en el consumo plantean la necesidad de estrategias que consideren estas particularidades para garantizar seguridad alimentaria y calidad nutricional. Por meio de análise bivariada e multivariada, foi analisada a relação entre o percentual de energia proveniente de produtos ultraprocessados ​​e as variáveis ​​geográficas e sociodemográficas. Resultados: Os produtos ultraprocessados ​​fornecem 30,3% da energia. A maior contribuição foi observada nos domicílios da Grande Buenos Aires, com rendimentos mais elevados, maior clima educacional, naqueles que não recebem assistência estatal, sem idosos e sem filhos menores de 14 anos. Controlando as demais características sociodemográficas, o clima educacional é a variável com maior capacidade explicativa e os domicílios com crianças menores de 14 anos apresentam maior percentual de energia proveniente de produtos ultraprocessados. Conclusão: As diferenças de consumo levantam a necessidade de estratégias que considerem essas particularidades para garantir a segurança alimentar e a qualidade nutricional.
