Objective: To determine the relationship between primary care CPs established by the Peruvian Dental Association (Colegio Odontológico del Perú, COP) and the CLs of dental surgeons working in first-level care centers. Methods: Descriptive, cross-sectional, and correlational study, in an intentional non-probabilistic sample, of 65 dental surgeons working in health facilities attached to the Directorates of Integrated Health Networks in Lima of the Ministry of Health (MINSA). A questionnaire was applied, structured on the basis of CP in PHC established by the COP and MINSA. Results: No relation was found between compliance with CP and CL. Conclusions: The relation established indicates that the level of care and the dental health promotion interventions will be useful. Las competencias profesionales (CP) y laborales (CL) en el sector salud deben estar orientadas para Atención Primaria en Salud (APS). Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre las CP de atención primaria establecidas por el Colegio Odontológico del Perú (COP) con las CL de cirujanos dentistas que trabajan en los centros de primer nivel de atención. Métodos: Estudio descriptivo, transversal y correlacional, en una muestra no probabilística intencional, de 65 Cirujanos dentistas que laboran en establecimientos de salud adscritos a las Direcciones de Redes Integradas de Salud de Lima del Ministerio de Salud (MINSA). Se aplicó un cuestionario, estructurado en base a CP en APS establecidas por el COP y MINSA. Resultados: No se encontró relación entre el cumplimiento de las CP y CL. Conclusiones: La relación establecida indica que el nivel de atención y las intervenciones de promoción de la salud estomatológica serán útiles. Objetivo: Determinar a relação entre os CPs de atendimento primário estabelecidos pela Associação Odontológica do Peru (Colegio Odontológico del Perú, COP) e os CLs dos cirurgiões-dentistas que trabalham em centros de atendimento de primeiro nível. Métodos: Estudo descritivo, transversal e correlacional, em amostra intencional não-probabilística, de 65 cirurgiões-dentistas trabalhando em unidades de saúde adstritas às Direções de Redes Integradas de Saúde em Lima do Ministério da Saúde (MINSA). Foi aplicado um questionário, estruturado com base no CP em PHC estabelecido pela COP e MINSA. Resultados: Não foi encontrada relação entre o cumprimento da CP e CL.
