The training was intended generally to promote rational use of medicines for professional primary care prescribers. Agreements were established between the National Health Ministry, Provincial Health Ministries and 23 medical schools. The Health Ministry policy was to involve the academic community in a joint effort aimed at prioritizing the Primary Health Care. The course was held for three cohorts, totaling 4463 professional, 2776 started the course and completed it by passing a final exam. They ran 118 seats of classrooms, involving all jurisdictions. URM Course was evaluated by the Monitoring and Evaluation Area using administrative data on academic performance by province and conducting 15 focus groups in different locations. The aim of this paper is to present the methodology used and the results obtained in the URM Course Evaluation in order to make a contribution to improve future interventions.

El Programa Remediar del Ministerio de Salud de la Nación implementó, entre 2006 y 2008 un Curso en Uso Racional de Medicamentos destinado a médicos y odontólogos que se desempeñaban en los Centros de Atención Primaria de la Salud que recibían el botiquín con los medicamentos del Programa Remediar. El Curso tenía como propósito general promover el uso racional de medicamentos entre los profesionales prescriptores del primer nivel de atención. Se establecieron acuerdos entre el Ministerio de Salud de la Nación (MSAL), los Ministerios de Salud Provinciales y 23 Facultades de Medicina. La política del MSAL fue involucrar a la comunidad académica en un trabajo conjunto orientado a jerarquizar la Atención Primaria de la Salud (APS). El curso se dictó para tres cohortes, en total 4463 profesionales iniciaron el curso y 2776 lo completaron aprobando un examen final. Funcionaron 118 sedes-aulas; participaron todas las jurisdicciones del país. El curso URM fue evaluado por el Área de Monitoreo y Evaluación del Remediar usando los registros de datos administrativos sobre rendimiento académico por provincia y realizando 15 grupos focales en distintas localidades. El objetivo del presente artículo es dar a conocer la metodología utilizada y los resultados obtenidos en la Evaluación del Curso URM con el propósito de hacer un a contribución para el mejoramiento de futuras intervenciones. Resumo: O Programa “ Remediar” do Ministério da Saúde da Nação implementou entre 2006 e 2008 um Curso sobre O Uso Racional de Medicamentos para médicos e dentistas que trabalhavam nos Centros de Atenção Primária à Saúde que recebiam a caixa de remédios com o Programa “ Remediar” O curso teve o objetivo geral de promover o uso racional de medicamentos por profissionais prescritores de cuidados primários. Foram estabelecidos acordos entre o Ministério da Saúde da Nação (MSAL), os Ministérios Provinciais da Saúde e 23 Faculdades de Medicina. A política do Ministério da Saúde foi de envolver a comunidade acadêmica em um esforço conjunto que visa hierarquizar a Atenção Primária à Saúde (APS). O curso foi realizado por três grupos, totalizando 4.463 profissionaisque começaram o curso e 2776 que o concluíram aprovando um exame final. Foram ocupadas 118 salas de aula; envolveu todas as jurisdições do país. O curso URM foi avaliado pela Área de Monitoramento e Avaliação do “ Remediar” empregando os cadastros de dados administrativos sobre o desempenho acadêmico por província e realizando 15 turmas focais em diferentes locais. O objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar a metodologia utilizada e os resultados obtidos na Avaliação do Curso URM a fim de contribuir para a melhoria das intervenções futuras.
