In order to respond to this vacancy, this paper seeks to analyze the main challenges and possible scenarios of the organizational structure of the national public administration in Argentina to 2030. The methodology is qualitative. Based on scenario modelling, it is embedded in a forward-looking strategy. To this end, expert interviews were combined with the use of specific tools to identify variables and categories, and with contributions from the literature. These contributions have allowed us to go deeper in the analysis of the systemic functioning of the set of variables in terms of influence/dependence. Our goal is a two-fold contribution. On the one hand, it is expected to increase theoretical knowledge about the structure of the national public administration in Argentina from an organizational point of view. On the other hand, it seeks to contribute to the understanding of possible future scenarios of this key dimension, in order to enable the development of different actions to achieve a desirable future through strategic planning. A pesar de los numerosos estudios que se han propuesto indagar en el futuro de las administraciones públicas, pocos especialistas han elaborado una línea de base en torno de la estructura estatal argentina desde un enfoque organizacional, y menos aún, han desarrollado estrategias sistemáticas para la exploración de sus futuros posibles. En aras de responder a esta área de vacancia, el presente artículo se propone analizar los principales desafíos y posibles escenarios de la estructura organizativa de la Administración Pública Nacional (APN) argentina a 2030. La metodología utilizada es cualitativa y se enmarcar en un encuadre prospectivo que parte de la modelización de escenarios posibles a futuro. Para ello, se combinó la consulta a expertos con el uso de herramientas específicas de detección de categorías y variables, y los aportes teóricos de reconocidos especialistas que permiten profundizar en el análisis del funcionamiento sistémico de un conjunto de variables en un plano de influencia/dependencia. De esta forma, se realiza una doble contribución teórica y práctica. Por un lado, se espera haber incrementado el conocimiento teórico que existe acerca de la estructura de la Administración Pública Nacional argentina desde un enfoque organizacional. Por otro lado, se espera realizar un aporte a la comprensión de los posibles escenarios a futuro de esta dimensión clave de la organización estatal, que permita luego desarrollar cursos de acción estratégicos para arribar al escenario que se considere deseable.
