La política de colonización y de tierras en Chaco y Formosa desde la década del setenta nos posibilitan analizar los objetivos del Estado nacional y provincial sobre las áreas fiscales y libres de ocupación las cuales se encontraban en tensión por distintos actores rurales y sujetos. En ambas provincias, durante estos años, se formulan políticas publicas con el objetivo de llevar adelante la modernización agraria y expansión de la frontera agropecuaria, el articulo desarrolla las acciones planificadas y ejecutadas por entidades estatales en el territorio, demostrando las tensiones y los avances en el marco de estos proyectos y expansión.
