In this work it is proposed that this form of rationality has serious implications in the way in which subjects experience that reality since, on the one hand, they limit the scope of the possible by converting subjective decisions into programmable probabilities while, also, they start and they reproduce biases and social inequalities. In response to this dominant use of data, the subjects have given rise to a new practice that corresponds to the critical use of data, tools and instruments typical of digitality. What we will call here critical datification is a response from practice but also a theoretical-methodological proposal to contend with the dominant discourses. Two cases are offered, that of the citizen response organized after the earthquake of September 19, 2017 in Mexico, in which the management of data created by activists was fundamental to respond to the emergency, and that of the academic work carried out in the interdisciplinary laboratory Signa_Lab in Mexico, to address, make visible and offer analysis of social problems such as the disappearance crisis in the state of Jalisco, in the same country. La gubernamentalidad algorítmica puede entenderse como una forma de racionalidad que parte del aprovechamiento, producción y gestión de la experiencia social convertida en datos. En este trabajo se propone que dicha forma de racionalidad tiene serias implicaciones en la forma en que los sujetos experimentan dicha realidad pues, por una parte, limitan el ámbito de lo posible al convertir las decisiones subjetivas en probabilidades programables mientras que, también, parten y reproducen sesgos e inequidades sociales. Como respuesta a este uso dominante de los datos, los sujetos han hecho emerger una nueva práctica que se corresponde con el uso crítico de los datos, las herramientas y los instrumentos propios de la digitalidad. Lo que aquí llamaremos datificación crítica es una respuesta desde la práctica pero, también, una propuesta teórico-metodológica para contender con los discursos dominantes. Se ofrecen dos casos, el de la respuesta ciudadana organizada tras el terremoto del 19 de septiembre de 2017 en México en el que la gestión de datos creados por los activistas fueron fundamentales para responder a la emergencia y el de el trabajo académico realizado en el laboratorio interdisciplinar Signa_Lab en México, para abordar, visibilizar y ofrecer análisis de problemáticas sociales como la crisis de desapariciones en el estado de Jalisco, en el mismo país.
