| Sumario: | The aim of this article is to arise the debate about public policy role in scientific and technological development for health, with emphasis on the Brazilian context during the last decade. A specialized literature review is submitted, which addresses Health National Policy on Science, Technology and Innovation (Política Nacional de Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovação em Saúde, PNCTIS) together with actions to strengthen the Industrial Health Complex (Complexo Industrial de Saúde, CIS), discussion which should provide a starting point and motivation for future research. These actions were relevant because they raised an unprecedented process of institutional coordination for the health sector at the federal level, in line with last decade`s science and technology promotion initiatives and incentives for innovation. |
