This approach is given from the category “diagnosis” as an articulating axis of the practices and discourses that monopolize the field. As a part of a policy of demanicomialization that arises from reformist movements in the health sector in response to biological perspectives and old hygienist measures, the dismantling of asylum institutions seeks to integrate the mental health into primary health care. Therefore, nowadays, this category is being disputed by different subordinate actors who participatein the dynamics that configure the senses around mental health in pursuit of a social and political recognition of their existence as right holders above the biology of their bodies. Este artículo aborda la visibilización de las lógicas que disputan los sentidos relativos a la enfermedad y al padecimiento a partir de una aproximación etnográfica al campo de la salud mental en la ciudad de Córdoba, Argentina. Esta aproximación está dada a partir de la categoría “diagnóstico” como un eje articulador de las prácticas y discursos que monopolizan el campo. Como parte de una política de desmanicomialización que se desprende de movimientos reformistas dados en el sector de la salud como respuesta a perspectivas de carácter biologicista y antiguas medidas higienistas, esta desarticulación de las instituciones asilares busca integrar a la salud mental en la atención primaria de la salud. Por tanto, en la actualidad, esta categoría está siendo disputada por los distintos actores subalternos que participan de las dinámicas que configuran los sentidos en torno a la salud mental en pos de un reconocimiento social y político de su existencia como sujetos de derecho por sobre la biología de sus cuerpos.
