Dimensions of urban imaginaries, identity experiences and cultural consumption in the public space are tensioned from the urban mediatization. The methodology used is qualitative, employing the techniques of participant observation and digital observation. The research results show how Plaza España is the scenario of consumption and digital contents in the social network Instagram, in whose interaction of cultural consumption constitutes the epicenter of the social appropriation of the urban public space of Nueva Córdoba. El artículo problematiza la apropiación social de la reciente intervención urbana de Plaza España en Córdoba, Argentina. Recuperando una perspectiva de complejidad del espacio público, se propone explorar acerca de las dimensiones simbólicas que operan en su apropiación, haciendo especial énfasis en las tecnologías digitales de consumo masivo y producción de contenido, como la plataforma Instagram. Se tensionan dimensiones de carácter de imaginarios urbanos, experiencias identitarias y consumos culturales en el espacio público a partir de la mediatización urbana. La metodología utilizada es cualitativa, empleando las técnicas de observación participante y observación digital. Los resultados de investigación dan cuenta de cómo Plaza España es el escenario de consumos y contenidos digitales en la red social Instagram, en cuya interacción de consumos culturales la constituyen epicentro de la apropiación social del espacio público urbano de Nueva Córdoba.
