The theoretical framework is based on the Right to the City and incorporates a gender perspective, recognizing that cities are immersed in a capitalist system that prioritizes the development of productive activities over reproductive and everyday activities. It emphasizes that the configuration of urban space is not neutral, as some reproductive activities do not find adequate physical support in the city. The proposed quantitative and qualitative methodology allows for the characterization of the municipality and, particularly, the existing informal settlements in terms of their location, access to facilities and services, and the socio-spatial conditions of their population, among other factors. Census variables such as Unsatisfied Basic Needs, the Household Material Deprivation Index, and Female Household Headship are selected and spatialized using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The results highlight inequalities in access to urban space and reveal gender disparities in city access, which worsen when residing in informal settlements.
