The “home” constitutes an indispensable point of inclusion that goes beyond the limits of the built space and also affects the spheres of the reproduction of life and the care work of peoples. Then, it is essential for the exercise of other rights, such as those related to energy access, education, work and health, political and social participation. It is not by chance, therefore, that the “house” has historically been a place of claims, disputes and resistance led mainly by women (Jelin, 2010). In this article we propose to look at the daily experiences of women in a context of energy poverty, from the material and symbolic dimensions of the domestic space. We consequently analyze not only the conditions and material conditioning factors of the dwellings and their link with energy poverty, but also how these households are made up, how energy expenditures are done, how uses and consumption are ranked, what are the strategies that women deploy to withstand these conditions and the senses that are configured around their practices and their homes. |

El hogar constituye un punto indispensable de inclusión que desborda los límites del espacio construido y afecta también las esferas de la reproducción de la vida y el cuidado de las personas. Por ello, resulta fundamental para el ejercicio de otros derechos, como aquellos vinculados con el acceso a energía, educación, trabajo y salud y participación política-social. No es casualidad, por lo tanto, que la casa haya sido históricamente lugar de reivindicaciones, disputas y resistencias liderado mayoritariamente por las mujeres (Jelin, 2010). En este artículo nos proponemos mirar las experiencias cotidianas de mujeres en contexto de pobreza energética, desde las dimensiones material y simbólica del espacio doméstico. Se analizan entonces, no sólo las condiciones y condicionantes materiales de las viviendas y su vínculo con la pobreza energética, sino también, cómo se componen esos hogares, cómo se jerarquizan los gastos, usos y consumos de energía, cuáles son las estrategias que las mujeres despliegan para soportar estas condiciones y los sentidos que se configuran en torno a sus prácticas y sus hogares. A casa constitui um ponto de inclusão indispensável que ultrapassa os limites do espaço construído e atinge também as esferas da reprodução da vida e do cuidado das pessoas. Portanto, é imprescindível para o exercício de outros direitos, como os relacionados ao acesso à energia, educação, trabalho e saúde, participação política e social. Não é por acaso, portanto, que a casa tem sido historicamente um lugar de reivindicações, disputas e resistências lideradas principalmente por mulheres (Jelin, 2010). Neste artigo, nos propomos a olhar para as vivências cotidianas de mulheres em um contexto de pobreza energética a partir das dimensões materiais e simbólicas do espaço doméstico. Em seguida, são analisadas não só as condições e constrangimentos materiais das habitações e a sua ligação com a pobreza energética, mas também como são constituídas estas famílias, como se classificam os gastos, utilizações e consumos de energia, quais as estratégias que as mulheres utilizam para resistir a essas condições e aos sentidos que se configuram em torno de suas práticas e de seus lares.
