Our main focus is on explaining the uses of this technology, with emphasis on the “ChatGPT”, in the implementation of Public Diplomacy Strategies. After exploring the benefits and challenges in this area we conclude that the tools that the Artificial Intelligence has the potential of putting in the hands of diplomats that implement Public Diplomacy strategies must be put in practice very carefully, establishing protocols and procedures to take advantage of the benefits it offers and avoiding, as possible, the materialization of the risks attributed to it. This study has the purpose to raise awareness among diplomats involved in the implementation of Public Diplomacy about the need to incorporate among the means used in practice systems with the capacity to generate Artificial Intelligence, keeping in mind that diplomacy is one of the activities in which Artificial Intelligence will not be able to replace the work of diplomats due to the complexity of matters related to foreign policy. En este trabajo se analiza la Inteligencia Artificial (IA) en la sociedad contemporánea, desde su definición, hasta sus beneficios y riesgos. El enfoque principal del mismo es explicar los usos que puede tener esa tecnología, con énfasis en el empleo del “ChatGPT”, en la implementación de las estrategias de Diplomacia Pública. Luego de explorar los beneficios y desafíos en la materia se concluye que las herramientas que la Inteligencia Artificial tiene el potencial de poner en manos de los diplomáticos, que implementan estrategias de Diplomacia Pública, deben ser empleadas muy cuidadosamente, estableciéndose protocolos y procedimientos para aprovechar los beneficios que ofrece y evitando, en la medida de lo posible, la materialización de los riesgos que se le atribuyen. Este estudio se propone concientizar a los diplomáticos involucrados en la implementación de la Diplomacia Pública sobre la necesidad de incorporar entre los medios que se utilizan en la práctica los sistemas con capacidad de generar Inteligencia Artificial, teniendo presente que la Diplomacia es de las actividades en que la Inteligencia Artificial no podrá sustituir la labor de las personas por la complejidad que tienen los asuntos relativos a la política exterior.
