In light of its institutional mission and environmental public order, the procedural rules based on which this body intervenes in judicial processes, whether necessary or optional, are examined. Under such rereading, the concrete possibilities of action on environmental issues, and the relevance of their intervention, are evaluated. Este artículo se propone analizar las facultades procesales que posee el Ministerio Público Fiscal de la Provincia de Córdoba para procurar la tutela del ambiente, principalmente mediante la interposición de medidas cautelares ambientales. A la luz de su misión institucional y del orden público ambiental, se examinan las reglas procesales a partir de las cuales este órgano interviene en los procesos judiciales, ya sea de manera necesaria, ya sea de manera facultativa. Bajo tal relectura, se evalúan las posibilidades concretas de actuación en asuntos ambientales, y la relevancia de su intervención.
