I10-R353-article-430672024-07-02T18:15:05Z THE CAROLINA CASE, ARGENTINE WOMAN TRAPPED IN EGYPT EL CASO CAROLINA. MUJER ARGENTINA ATRAPADA EN EGIPTO Uriondo de Martinoli, Amalia Discriminatory system Infringed rights Possible solutions Sistema discriminatorio Derechos infringidos Posibles soluciones The article seeks to respond to the situation of Carolina, who is married to an Egyptian with whom she has two daughters, one born in Egypt and the other in Argentina, living the marriage alternately in both countries. The mistreatements to which her husband subjected her and the impossibility of Carolina requesting a divorce in Egypt because the Muslim is the one who enjoys that unilateral and unconditional right, entails the need to think about possible ways to solve the issue: a) Forum necessitatis; b) Extraterritorial efficacy of unilateral repudiation; c) Principle of recognition; and d) The repudiation and deployment of the international public order clause.
