Se establece la presencia de Mycosphaerella citrullina (C. O. Smith) Gross como causal de la destrucción de los frutos de un cultivo de 12 Ha. de sandía (Citrullus vulgaris Schd.) var. Charleston Grey y, con menor incidencia en melones Honeydew (Cucumis melo L.), en las cercanías de Cruz del Eje. Aparentemente, sería la primera mención de la podredumbre negra de las cucurbitáceas para la Argentina y sin duda lo es para la provincia deCórdoba.
