Sumario:Identification by means of the epidermal characteristics of forage native species of the region phytogeographic Chaqueño Occidental Forest of the Córdoba province. I. Poaceae. The abaxial epidermis of leaves from 25 forage, native, representative Poaceae species of the region phytogeographic Chaqueño Occidental Forest was studied. All of them occurred in a xerophytic area, located 19 km north of Quilino, in the Córdoba province, Argentina. A detailed description of the costal and intercostal epidermal zones was made. Results were arranged in dichotomic keys, allowing the identification of the species by their epidermis. Analyzed characters: silica bodies, long intercostal cells, short cells, silica suberous pairs, prickles, microhairs, macrohairs, papillae, and stomata, resulted taxonomically relevant in all cases.
