I. Poaceae. The abaxial epidermis of leaves from 25 forage, native, representative Poaceae species of the region phytogeographic Chaqueño Occidental Forest was studied. All of them occurred in a xerophytic area, located 19 km north of Quilino, in the Córdoba province, Argentina. A detailed description of the costal and intercostal epidermal zones was made. Results were arranged in dichotomic keys, allowing the identification of the species by their epidermis. Analyzed characters: silica bodies, long intercostal cells, short cells, silica suberous pairs, prickles, microhairs, macrohairs, papillae, and stomata, resulted taxonomically relevant in all cases. Se estudió la epidermis abaxial de hojas en 25 especies de Poáceas forrajeras nativas, representativas de la región fitogeográfica Bosque Chaqueño Occidental, en una zona de monte xerofítico ubicado a 19 km al norte de Quilino, Provincia de Córdoba. Se realizó una descripción minuciosa de las mismas en sus zonas costales e intercostales. Los resultados obtenidos se vertieron en claves dicotómicas que permiten identificar las especies por su epidermis. Los caracteres analizados: cuerpos silíceos, células largas intercostales, células cortas, pares silica suberosos, aguijones, micropelos, macropelos, papilas y estomas, resultaron en todos los casos de relevancia taxonómica.
