En las teorías estructuralistas del lenguaje (Bally, 1950; Malmberg, 1954; Coseriu, 1973) se pueden encontrar postulaciones y discusiones en torno a la presencia esencial de la sincronía en la estabilidad del lenguaje. También en lingüística histórica (Paul, 1880) se afirmó que la consistencia de las conductas lingüísticas y la regularidad de los cambios fónicos se derivaban de principios más generales, especialmente psicológicos, que se manifiestan en la consistencia de las prácticas del habla y en la regularidad de los cambios que expresa, como sugieren Weinreich, Labov y Herzog (1968). La discusión no consiste en establecer si la lingüística se ha ocupado o no de este problema. Se trata más bien de reflexionar sobre la articulación de los avances epistemológicos que se observan en la teoría de políticas de lenguaje y en intervenciones o mediaciones de cambio sociolingüístico. En este trabajo se analizan estos avances para reflexionar sobre su viabilidad en términos de regulación plural de los cambios sociolingüísticos. In the relatively recent history of linguistics, interesting epistemological rearrangements have occurred around the change and variability of systems to explain the compatibility between stratification and the structurability of languages. In structuralist theories of language (Bally, 1950; Malmberg, 1954; Coseriu, 1973) one can find postulations and discussions around the essential presence of synchrony in the stability of language. Also, in historical linguistics (Paul, 1880) it was stated that the consistency of linguistic behaviors and the regularity of phonic changes were derived from more general principles, especially psychological ones, which are manifested in the consistency of speech practices and in the regularity of the changes it expresses, as suggested by Weinreich, Labov and Herzog (1968). The discussion is not about establishing whether linguistics has dealt with this problem or not. Rather, it is about reflecting on the articulation of the epistemological advances that are observed in the theory of language policies and in interventions or mediations of sociolinguistic change. In this work, these advances are analyzed to reflect on their viability in terms of plural regulation of sociolinguistic changes.
