This intercultural context of multiple languages and plural ethnicities constitutes a challenge for the teaching and learning of Spanish as a native and foreign language, which we try to address from our universities in sustained inter-institutional work supported by research and reflections from a regional approach, through pluricentric policies, and democratic and inclusive institutional definitions that address bordering dynamics without losing sight of the national and global dimension.
