| Sumario: | In this article I will address the sociolinguistic representations that emerge from the analysis of the Spanish version of the spiralist novel Los poseídos de la luna llena, by the Haitian writer Jean-Claude Fignolé, translated from Haitian French by Laura Masello and published in 1992 by Trilce, an independent Uruguayan publishing house. The analysis of the target text makes it possible to recognise the norms in translation that guided the writing process in Spanish, which leads to the recognition of the representations (about the source and target language). This approach allows us to recognise the role of the diatopic varieties of Spanish in translated literature in the local literary system and to outline the existing relations between the representations and language policies of the Spanish-speaking world. |
