The complex and conflictive relationship established between the national state and the province is addressed deriving in results that can be characterized as disparate. Among other issues, Santa Fe has not extended the teaching of foreign languages to the entire primary level, in compliance with the Ley de Educación Nacional 26206 (article 87), which generates an onerous debt for the democratization of this area of knowledge. Este trabajo aborda la situación de las lenguas extranjeras en la provincia de Santa Fe durante el período 2003-2015 a través del estudio de las normativas, la producción curricular y la implementación de políticas, particularmente en el nivel primario, secundario y terciario de la educación. Se aborda la compleja y conflictiva relación que se establece entre el estado nacional y la provincia con resultados que pueden ser caracterizados como dispares.
