Sumario:In the final work, the archival treatment necessary to organize the Photographic Archive of the Astronomical Observatory of Córdoba was investigated. For this, we worked on the archival procedures that must be applied: the identification, classification and documentary organization. We sought to demonstrate the benefits of implementing the archival treatment, as well as the importance of organizing the photographic archive of one of the oldest and most important scientific institutions in the country, with international relevance. The research carried out is qualitative of an exploratory and descriptive nature. At first, the historical method was applied to determine the context of production. The history of the institution and the usefulness of photographic plates were investigated. A posteriori, the archival method was used, in which the identification, records classification and records organization were addressed, as well as the founding principles of archival science: Principle of Provenance and Principle of Original Order.   Keywords: photographic archives, records classification, records organization
