The results of the documentary research project called (Reclamation, Description and Development of the Historical and Documentary Heritage of Catamarca and Its Transfer to Socio-Historical Knowledge Construction) subsidised by CONICET are presented. The methodology applied is displayed as well. This project pursued the goal of carrying out a census of the Archives and records management of some of the state and private corporate bodies from San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca city.
The first diagnosis has allowed its archival description and the elaboration of a fonds guide of the local archives, following ISAD (G) and ISAAR (CPF).
Every area and element of ISAD (G) is broken down in detail. The strengths and weaknesses are explained in order to adapt them at the local level. ISAAR (CPF) has been used particularly for the normalization of the creator.
