A fundamental part of this work is the paradigmatic contribution of T.R. Schellenberg, he concluded and recommended to avoid and reject the use of the Dewey System in Archives, this happened after its publication un 1958. Whit that analysis draw a line that explains one of the problems of the Mexican Archives, this consist in the use  and adaptation of the system in the Archives, an aspect that began at the beginning of the XX Century and which apparently became a widespread practice intel de end of the century, the mentioned books and cases studied in Mexico allow to make a general conclusion and establish a line of research on this topic, which in some sense stopped the evolution and scientific autonomy of Archive and Archival Science in Mexico during the XX Century.    Keywods.  Mexico: Histori of Archivology - Archival studies - Archives history - History of science - Archives history - Archive techniques.   En este trabajo se presenta una revisión general de un grupo de libros que incluyen conceptos, métodos y principios para organizar Archivos, casi todos publicados en México entre 1912 y 1993, el aspecto común es la explicación del Sistema de Clasificación Decimal Dewey para adaptarse en Archivos. Una parte fundamental del trabajo es el libro paradigmático de T.R. Schellenberg quien concluyó y recomendó desestimar el uso del Sistema Dewey en los Archivos, esto ocurrió luego de su publicación en 1958. Con lo anterior se traza una línea que explica uno de tantos problemas en la historia de la Archivística en México, el cual consiste en el uso y adaptación de ese sistema en los archivos públicos y privados, aspecto iniciado a principios del siglo XX y que se convirtió al parecer en una práctica extendida hasta fines del siglo. Los libros mencionados y los casos estudiados en México permiten hacer conclusiones generales y establecer una línea de investigación sobre el uso de este sistema Dewey y cómo con ello se estableció una subordinación científica, que frenó en algún sentido la evolución y autonomía científica de la Archivística en México en el siglo XX.   Palabras clave.
