En el Archivo del Obispado de Catamarca se halla un documento eclesiástico de 1764, la llamada “Información Jurídica sobre la Historia de la Virgen del Valle”, que pretendemos a través de este artículo revalorizar, difundir y analizar mediante un estudio crítico y socio-histórico. El estudio crítico busca describir, desde las ciencias paleográfico-diplomáticas las características intrínsecas del soporte, tintas, escritura, formulismos y autores del documento. Por otro lado, el análisis socio-histórico indagará en la descripción y valoración de un aspecto de la infomación socio-biográfica de los testigos y actores nombrados en la fuente. Asi, mediante la herramienta genealógica se establecerán ñliaciones, parentescos y familias de la elite de San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca en la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII.AbstractFrom the Archive of theDiocesis of Catamarca was found an ecclesiastical document from 1764, the “Información Jurídica sobre la Historia de la Virgen del Valle”. The aim of this article is to revalue, to diñuse and analyze through both, a critical and social-historical study, that document. The critical study describes -from the paleographic science and diplomatic science- the intrinsic characteristics of supports, inks, writing, formalisms, and authors of the document. On the other side, the social-historical study will inquire into the description and assessment of one aspect of the socialbiographic information of witnesses and actors named in the source. Thus, through genealogical method it will be established allegiances, partnerships and families of the elite of “San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca” during the second half of the 18th century.Keywords: Catamarca, 18th century, juridical information, documental source.
