Aun así, por desgracia, todavía son un gran desconocido para la mayorparte de investigadoresy su potencial está por explotar. A pesar de recoger información de carácter económico, su utilidad para profundizar en la historia social de ámbito local es indiscutible. El presente artículo tiene por objeto dar a conocer esta tipología libraria, exponiendo los principales volúmenes que pueden encontrarse entre los fondos del Archivo Histórico Nacional en Madrid (España).AbstractThe “becerro” books were written responding to concise orders from the Council of the Supreme and General lnquisition and they are a main source of information about the history of diñerent Holly Oñiceºs courts in Spain. However, they are still unknown by the most part of historians and their possibilities remains uncertain. The information contained in these books can be useful not only to researchers interested in Economic History, but also to those interested in local themes. The present paper will focus on this specific source of information, specifically those volumes held in the collection of the National Historical Archive of Spain (Madrid).Keywords: Early Modern History, Spanish Inquisition, Economic History, documents.
