Such is the object of the present investigation, but not with the purpose of doing it as a folklorologist, who is a specialized theoretical scientist, but with a sociological criterion, in order to consider the generic aspect of the folkloric fact, thus establishing precise and definite conclusions on this very new branch of sociology, which we can simply call Sociology of folklore. Existe toda una serie de hechos que el sentido común denomina genéricamente folclóricos, que son de carácter vulgar y tienen gran difusión en el pueblo. Paralelamente existe una disciplina que los agrupa y estudia, llamada la Ciencia del Folclore. Tal es el objeto de la presente investigación, pero no con el propósito de hacerlo como un folklorólogo, que es un científico teórico especializado, sino con un criterio sociológico, con el fin de considerar el aspecto genérico del hecho folclórico, estableciendo así conclusiones precisas y definidas sobre esta novísima rama de la sociología, que podemos llamar simplemente Sociología del folclore.
