The finding was accidental. It was due to the systematic probing or exploration of the common bile duct. In our environment it is observed very sporadically. Exploration of the common bile duct, whether instrumental or by operative cholangiography, will always give us the key to these foreign bodies that obstruct the caliber of the duct or obstruct its lumen. Por primera vez hemos observado un caso en que la fasciola o distoma hepática se encontraba como si fuera un cuerpo extraño en la luz del colédoco. El hallazgo fué casual. Se debió al sondeo o exploración sistemática del colédoco. En nuestro medio se le observa muy esporádicamente. La exploración del colédoco ya sea instrumental o bien por la colangiografía operatoria, nos dará siempre la clave de estos cuerpos extraños que entorpecen el calibre del conducto u obstruyen su luz.
