Sumario:In this article the agrarian structure of Córdoba province is reconstructed on the basis of two issues: the identification of the different kinds of production units recorded in the 1778 population census, and the comparative analysis of their characteristics and their zonal distribution. The results of this analysis are compared with the available information on productive specializations, and demographic structure of each rural district. On the basis of the established correlations, specific combinations of the different kinds of production units are identified in each district. It allows us to infer the possibilities of differentiation for the independent small production units in each zone. At the same time, the main characteristics of the different types of production units, including those integrated in cattle ranches and “Indian villages”, are described. As a result, the agrarian structure of Córdoba province, and their particularities in each rural zone are reconstructed.
