Territorialidad y fronteras políticas en la construcción de los estados nacionales, 1810 - 1840 Mata de López, Sara Figueroa, Eulalia In this first approach to the problem of the political identities that were constructed in the context of the war of independence and the internal struggles for power -which influenced the construction of the state and the determination of territorial borders- it is necessary to observe the social conflicts, economic interests and local political positions in the context of the war of independence in South America. We are interested in analyzing the resolution of the territorial problem in a space far from the old viceregal capitals which, in spite of everything and more theoretically than practically, tried to continue exercising a leading role. The relations with Upper Peru are thus a nodal problem because it remained under the military jurisdiction of the Colombian army that advanced from the north and that recognized the legality of the belonging of this territory to the Río de la Plata. En esta primera aproximación al problema de las identidades políticas que se construyeron en el contexto de la guerra de independencia y en las luchas internas por el poder -que incidieron en la construcción estatal y en la determinación de fronteras territoriales- es preciso observar la conflictividad social, los intereses económicos y los posicionamientos políticos locales en el contexto de la guerra de independencia de la América del Sur. Nos interesa analizar la resolución del problema territorial en un espacio alejado de las antiguas capitales virreinales que, a pesar de todo y mas teórica que prácticamente trataron de seguir ejerciendo un papel dirigente. Las relaciones con el Alto Perú resultan así un problema nodal porque éste quedó bajo la jurisdicción militar del ejército colombiano que avanzaba desde el norte y que reconocía la legalidad de la pertenencia de este territorio al Río de la Plata.
